Kuttriyar Falls - 1

Name: Kuttriyar Falls

Prior permission from the Forest  department is
required to enter this area.

Place : Kuttriyar,  Near Lower Kothayar Camp

Route : Kanyakumari -----> Nagercoil -----> Thuckalay ----->
             Kulasekharam -----> Pechiparai -----> Kuttriyar

            Thiruvananthapuram -----> Marthandam ----->
            Kulasekharam -----> Pechiparai -----> Kuttriyar

In 1964, then Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and
CeylonPrime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike signed the
Sirima-Shastri Pact (also known as the Indo-Ceylon
Agreement) under which India agreed to the repatriation of
525,000 Indian Tamils.

Those Indian Tamils mostly plantation workers settled in
Tamilnaduespecially in Nilgiri, Kovai & Kanyakumari
districts.

Kuttriyar (near Kothayar Lower Camp,Kanyakumari district)
is one such settlement and most of the people work in Rubber
Plantations.

Kuttriyar Falls is located inside the forest area and is unknown to
public except a few.
