Also known as Milady, Mylady, the art of these sthapathis
can be found allover india and especially in kerala, most
of the Gods are created by these people.

The sthapathis of Mylaudy are very skilled in Sculpting monolithic
rocks. Formed in the year 1958, the stone workers cottage
industrial cooperative society of mylaudy is the birthplace of
many gods.

Though the question 'Who created Who?' -  'Man -God'
or 'God - Man' is still an unclear one, a visit to mylaudy will
clear us  that Gods (at least their idols) are being made here for centuries.

The Kattabomman Statue in Kayathar and Thiruvalluvar Statue
in Kanyakumari are made by the sculptors of Mylaudy.
